Chroloy - Aleación metálica >

Chroloy is distinguished by an outstanding fluidity which grant to fill even the thinnest detail of the frame; down to two tenth of a millimetre.

The molecular structure allows you to obtain smooth, compact and mirror like surfaces with less oxide formation.

General working instructions

Preheating
Preheat casting moulds according to the instructions given by the manufacturer of the investment.
Before doing the casting preheat the moulds to a temperature between 950° C - 1.050° C.

Melting and casting with an induction machine
Place some ingots into the crucible, according to the size of the frame.
Switch on the melting machine and make sure that it produces the highest power so to reach the melting point as soon as possible.
As soon as the ingots are completely melted and after disappearing of their shadows, start centrifugal action.

Melting and casting with open-flame
Light the flame and adjust the pressure in order to have a blue nucleus of about 4 mm lenght.
Place chroloy into the preheated crucible.
Move the flame over the cruicible, rotating the tip, in order to evenly heat the alloy.
As soon as the ingots are completely melted, and after disappearing of their shadow, start centrifugal action.

Sandblast the framework with corundum 110 – 150 µm.
Do the following working procedure cycles according to your personal method.

Re-use of sprues and cones
The best results can be obtained by using pure Chroloy ; it is however possible to re-use, only one time, the sprue cones provided that the same quantity of new metal would be added and that both new metal and sprue cones from the same lot.

Warnings and cautions

1) Cobalt may seldom cause dermatitis on sensitive subjects. We advice a contact test.

2) Verify before the application of the denture if other restorations are present in the oral cavity of the patient. If different metals are present a „pile effect“ may occur.

3) Each batch is identified by a lot-number. Take note of this number on the patients file in order to trace down the product.
